Merit Badge Counselor
As a first step in Scouting America leadership, expertise is solicited from all adults for Merit Badge Counselors (a position registered at the district level). See the Advancement Chair for the application requirements, training, and a list of badges.
  1. Info About becoming a merit badge counselor
  2. Merit Badge Counselor Application 
  3. Complete required Youth Protection Training, print and submit certificate of completion with adult application. 
  4. Adult Application & Adult Background Check Consent Form (Required)

  1. Read Pages 16 – 18 of Guidebook for Scouts and Adults to understand Troops 258 & 358 adult volunteer process.  
  2. Complete Adult Talent Search Form, click Here
  3. Troop Adult Volunteer: See Committee Chair/Asst. Committee Chair to see how you can get involved.
  4. Complete required Youth Protection Training.
  5. Complete Position Specific Training. See the Troops Training Chair to identify which session(s).
  6. Sign and agree to abide by the Troop Scouter Code of Conduct
  7. Adult Application & Adult Background Check Consent Form (Required)
  8. Wood Badge Leadership Training
